If you are caught with what the law considers to be a small amount of cannabis—up to 100 grams of cannabis, 20 grams of cannabis resin, smoking cannabis, possessing equipment or cultivating no more than 1 plant—this would be considered a simple drug offence.
Penalties for this charge: For a simple drug offence, you will likely be issued with a fine of $300.
Things to consider: Cannabis grown hydroponically does not fall within a simple offence.
